Sundar Pichai Google CEO visits India, probably to announce new initiatives for small businesses, startups

Sundar Pichai is in Jaipur for a family holiday meanwhile Sunday afternoon.


Google CEO Sundar Pichai is presently visiting India. Though his tour is reported to be personel, Sundar is also going to host an occasion in New Delhi on January 4. At the conference, Pichai is going to announce new initiatives regarding to startups and small businesses in India. The event will also be joined by IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad along with some senior Google officials.

The initiative, named Digital Unlocked program is intended at helping startups and small business to influence online tools to raise their businesses.

“Small and Medium Businesses is the pillar of the Indian economy and are driving the next wave of the country’s development. At Google, we are enthusiastic about associating with businesses to help them unlock exponential growth through the power of digital. We offer you to join Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and other elder leaders from Google as they shine spot light on how digital can be a game changer for Indian SMBs. Also distribution of thoughts will be Shri ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble IT Minister, Government of India,” the invitation read.

With startup ecology booming in India, specifically after government-backed Startup India and Digital India programs, Google has shown a deep interest in becoming a key partner. preious month, Google announced that 7 Indian startups will join its 3rd  batch of ‘Launchpad Accelerator‘. Google will be providing mentorship to these startups for 6 months, which will also contain a 2 week, all-expenses paid bootcamp set to kick off at “Launchpad Space” in San Francisco on January Thirty.

Previous year, Google had announced an initiative meant at small and medium enterprises to help them rise digitally, and make most of Google’s products like Google Maps and Google search. The company then exposed it aimed to get 20 million SMEs online by 2017 through its mobile based service, called Google My Business. The service permits businesses to create and manage their date around Google products for free. Also, the service is available in English and Hindi options.

That stated Sundar visit comes soon after the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and declared a nationwide ‘Digitally Safe Consumer’ campaign, as part of a superior effort to help well protect consumer interest online.
