Y S Jaganmohan Reddy alleged ‘Once I become CM, I will bring the golden rule of our late frontrunner Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Amaravati: Y S Jaganmohan Reddy-main YSR Congress on Sunday almost released its strategy for the 2019 Andhra Pradesh elections encouraging among other things to make the state liquor-free in a phased manner.
Delivering the valedictory address at the YSRC’s two-day plenary at Nagarjuna Nagar on Sunday afternoon, the YSR Congress president enquired the party rank and case to take the newly-coined motto “Anna Vastunnadu…Bhavishyattu Manade” (‘Elder brother is coming, future is ours’) to each home in the state.
Jagan, now the Leader of the Opposition party in the state Assembly, proclaimed a nine-point program for his future administration wherein he assured a slew of sops to farmers, females, students, and seniors.
“The future is all ours. When I become Chief Minister, I will bring out the golden law of our late leader (and his dad) Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. Tell this to everybody in the state and ask them to be guaranteed of it. I have a strong wish to become the chief minister. I wish to rule for 30 years in a way that will make each household keep my picture, laterally with that of my late father, after my death,” Jagan alleged.
The YSRC chief alleged incumbent Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of “divulging” the state after making “false assurances” before 2014 elections.
“A situation in point is the loan disclaimer for farmers. Yet the farmers’ debt encumbrance was over Rs 87,000 crore, Chandrababu surrendered only Rs 11,000 crore and even that sum was not completely paid (to banks). But, as soon as I turn out to be CM, I will dispense Rs 50,000 to every small and marginal farmer having less than 5 acres of land,” he stated.
Jagan stated that a Price Stabilisation Fund with Rs 3,000 crores and a Calamity Relief Fund with Rs 2,000 crores would be made to help farmers in anguish.
He also said the females’ self-help clusters would be assumed Rs 15,000 crore.
Jagan had said that the liquor prohibition would be imposed in three periods, start with the whole eradication of belt shops (unauthorized trades in villages), followed by an energetic campaign listing the evils of liquor intake.
“Concurrently, we will upsurge liquor prices to such a level that merely crorepatis will be competent to buy it. And then we will ban liquor totally in the state,” he said.
He stated the social security pensions would be improved to Rs 2,000 per beneficiary from the present Rs 1,000.
At the quorate, Jagan officially announced the selection of Prasanth Kishor as the political tactician of his party.
“Like he aided Narendra Modi to become Prime Minister in the year 2014, Kishor will drive us to victory in the year 2019,” he told his party band.
