“To win an Olympic medal requires tons of dedication, sacrifice, focus & drive. WWE also requires a lot of commitment and also we want people like that. If that means an Olympic medallist is coming in from India, we will welcome him with open arms,” said Sheamus.
The four-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion is in India for an official tour & is enjoying his stay here.
“I always wanted to come to India, I missed out the opportunity to the wrestle in January. I used to travel with Khali, he told me all great things about the country. So, when I heard there was an opportunity to come down here, I grabbed it,” revealed the Celtic Warrior.
Sheamus says the tour is an opportunity for the WWE to thank its Indian fans. He said, “WWE likes to send down a lot of talent to thank all the WWE universe, we appreciate them watching our show on a weekly basis & have supported us. It’s one of the top shows watched in the entire country (India).”
The wrestling company has been trying hard to expand its market & push its brand to the East. Sheamus is impressed with the Indian talent and also hopes that more Indians will join WWE in the future.
“WWE is actively searching for the new talents from different countries. When I watched WWE, it was more like an American company, now it is the global company. We are looking for a new talent in India & I am sure we will be able to pick up one or two from India,” added the wrestler.
The wrestler recently worked in the movie like ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows’ & hopes to feature in a few more of them.
“You can only wrestle for so long. I definitely do not mind a few more movies & it’s cool to see yourself on the big screen.”
When quizzed about the toughest wrestlers he has faced, Sheamus picked the names like Big Show, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan and the Triple H.
