The apex court’s denial came a day after it sentenced Sasikala in a DA case and condemned her to 4 years in jail.
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on 15th February i.e. Wednesday turned down AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala Natarajan’s appeal seeking more time to surrender, later it condemned her in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case.
“We do not mean to pass any order on this. We are not going to alter anything in the judgment,” the Supreme Court perceived after an appeal for extension of time by Sasikala’s advocate. It once again probed her to surrender instantly.
She had sought after more time to surrender, on dregs of poor health, said declaration.
The apex court’s denial came a day after it condemned Sasikala in a Rs 66 crore DA case, pass judgment her to 4 years in jail, and slapped a fine of Rs 10 crore on her.
She is likely to surrender before a Bengaluru court today, and will soon leave her Poes Garden house in Chennai to reach Bengaluru.
The AIADMK general secretary, who employed loyalist E Palanisamy to the post of Legislature Party leader on Tuesday and on Wednesday named her nephew Dinakaran as the deputy general secretary. Dinakaran was one of Sasikala’s relations whom late CM Jayalalithaa barred in 2011.
