WhatsApp latest Status feature will be replacing the eight-year-old basic “text only” status feature in WhatsApp.
The mobile messenger company is progressing out a latest Snapchat-like feature named ‘Status’, a new stub for sharing photos, GIFs , videos that will wane after 24 hours. The newest feature is an appearance alike of Snapchat Stories, however, this one is encoded.
“We are agitated to proclaim that, corresponding with WhatsApp’s 8th birthday on 24th February, we are reinventing the latest status feature. Beginning today, we are rolling out a newest update to status, which lets you to share images and videos with your associates and contacts on the application in a simple and protected way. Yes, even your status updates are endwise encoded,” CEO and co-founder of WhatsApp Jan Koum stated in a recent blog post.
The new Status feature will be substituting the eight-year-old basic “text only” status feature in the messaging application.
The Facebook-owned messenger application was previously rumored to be working on the similar feature. It had tested the feature for iOS beta users in the month of November, “Status outline text updated in WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.17.4+,” a WABetainfo shared on its twitter holder.
Though, this time WhatsApp is formally rolling out the feature on all mobile OS platform, counting iOS, Android and Windows.
