Visakhapatnam Collector orders multiplexes to sell food items at MRP

Visakhapatnam Collector Pravin Kumar has made the multiplexes in the city not to hike the maximum retail price (MRP) of food products.

Visakhapatnam: Visakhapatnam collector Pravin Kumar has ordered the multiplexes in the city not to hike the maximum retail price (MRP) of food products, cool drinks, and other food products to be sold to customers from coming Monday. “Beneath the selected channel, it is not apt to sell the food items at more rates.

Customers should not face distress while buying these food items at multiplexes or any other open market. Everybody should sell on MRP as per the guidelines,” he said at a gathering with representatives of multiplexes and district authorized metrology officers.

On the event, area legal metrology officer G.V.R. Swamy clarified that the Consumer Act and price control features to representatives of the multiplexes. He asked them to deliberate the same with their administration.
