Devotees in Vijayawada were seen waiting in queue lines for Tuesday night.
Vijayawada: Administrators of the Durga Malleswara Swamy Devasthanams, laterally with the district administration and police department, made extravagant arrangements for the rites to be performed to the divinity Durga matha on Wednesday, when Moola Nakshatram cliques in and she is adored in the Saraswati alankaram, which is measured the most auspicious day in the nine-day (Navaratri) revels. Officials are expecting that 2-3 lakh devotees would visit the temple on this Wednesday and had made arrangements as per the need, with respect to darshan and prasadam.
Lakshmikantham, District collector and temple EO A. Suryakumari, municipal commissioner J. Nivas, DCP Kranti Rana Tata and others scrutinized the arrangements and held up the VIP darshan at 8.30 pm on Tuesday and normal darshan at 9.00pm.
Seeing the big turnout of the devotees, the officials fixed to provide darshan from 1.30 am on the prevailing night of Tuesday and Wednesday. Piligrims were seen waiting in row lines from Tuesday night.
VIP and ticket darshans were annulled on Wednesday and administrators urged the VIPs to collaborate with the temple management in this respect. Vehicles were banned from entering the ghat road. Only etiquette vehicles will be allowed, stated the temple EO.
