Union Minister Sujana Chowdary Says SCS is like Abolished Notes

In a bizarre way, Union minister and TD leader Y. Sujana Chowdary on Tuesday has compared the Special Category Status (SCS) to the abolished Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes.

Sujana Chowdary Said though denominations are abolished, their value has not changed as these will be transformed into a newly designed currency notes.

VIJAYAWADA: In a bizarre way, Union minister and TD leader Y. Sujana Chowdary on Tuesday has compared the Special Category Status (SCS) to the abolished Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes.

He said however these denominations are abolished, their value has not changed as these will be transformed into a newly designed currency notes. Likewise, the state has got special category status in the form of special assistance measure.

Addressing a press conference after the TD parliamentary party meeting, he said he was ready to clarify any doubts of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.

Previous, the TD meet chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu along with the party national general secretary Nara Lokesh discussed the strategy to be adopted in the forthcoming Winter Session of Parliament.

During a meeting, the Chief Minister discussed  the various aspects provided in the special package. He appealed to the MPs that pressure must be mounted on the Centre on according to legal sanctity to the special package.

He focused them on getting clarity on credit to be provided by Nabard for Polavaram project in a week’s time. He also said they  must put pressure on the Centre to fulfill all promises made under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Welcoming the decision to demonetize the Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes, the Chief Minister said precautionary measures should have been taken to minimize the difficulties to the public.

To curtail the flow of black money, public must be encouraged towards the electronic currency. Centre must take adequate steps to increase online transactions, he said. He added that countries with lower education levels and less development than our country were ahead of us in using mobile banking services.
