The final decision was set by TTD after the High Court enquired them to take action contrary to the hotels fleecing pilgrims.
Tirupati: In a great relief to pilgrims in Tirumala, the TTD has cautioned hotels to cut down the charges and place the fixed rate custom. The decision was finalised by TTD after the High Court enquired them to take action contrary to the hotels fleecing devotees. The TTD had specified a price list in 2011. But it was not trailed by hotels in the hill town region.
Pilgrims have started to get food for a usual price from Thursday. A gathering was conducted with the hotel management in Tirumala on this Wednesday. They have been specified instructions to trail the price list specified by TTD. They were warned of action if the standard is not adhered to. The TTD has voiced the court that a new policy will be originated from the next tendering procedure. There are two groups. In the first category, hotels can have their own prices and in the second category charges will be fixed by Tirumala authorities.
S. Srinivasa Raju, JEO said, “The new charge list will be updated in the tender which might be floated by month-end.” In the meantime, the hotel managements uttered concern over the temple result. The hotel managements stated that the prices of raw materials have enlarged from 2011 to 2017. A few of them felt that maximum of the rates are too low.
