TS government has given a final notice to erring ration dealers to mend their conducts. And in meeting on Thursday civil supplies Commissioner CV Anand told ration dealers to mend their ways or face stringent action as per the report.
CV Anand told them they had earned a bad reputation due to irregularities and reports of black marketing and diversion of stocks meant for the poor, state government would not consider their demands like raising commission if they do not fall in line, Anand said the government had traditional many complaints of benami ration dealers especially in the GHMC area in Hyderabad. He said, there were complaints of dealers not being local residents and not stabbing to timing for running the workshops.
Mr. Anand also told them to treat this as a final opportunity before the withdrawal of agreement. If the govt starts taking action counter to ration dealers for anomalies many of you will face holdup and lose agreements, Anand said to dealer. And also he cited the example of rice millers who did not return large quantities of customized crushing rice stocks meant for PDS to govt but had fallen in line after the department took severe events.
Ration dealers said because of meager commission and intuitive way of delivery of ration cards they suffer enormous losses, and some of them said they are involuntary to resort to irregularities to cover up fatalities. And they claimed that while some shops were allotted less than 500 cards others get over 10000 as per the report.
As official report, with fewer cards shop owners earn 3500 but spend 5250 they said and Anand guaranteed the shop owners that he would take up allotment of cards issue in a scientific way.
