The Will-Rogers Film Foundation nominates Tom Cruise for the 2018 Pioneer Award winner.
Tom Cruise to Receive Pioneer of the Year Honor at Cinemacon. The award will be held on April 25 at the Cruise of the National Theater Association of Las Vegas at the annual meeting. Cruise is the first actor to win the honor. The news is Thursday by the Will Rogers Film Foundation, which holds a yearly fundraising of CinemaCon for the pioneers’ aid fund, where people in the arts and entertainment community encounter illnesses that provide financial support and services that damage or change lives.
The three Oscar nominees will be awarded at the annual Pioneer Dinner on April 25, 2018, which will be held during the National Association of Theater Owners.
Tom Cruise is currently filing the sixth ‘mission: impossible franchise’, the plan will be announced on July 27, 2018. He is the next set of Paramount’s gun set, the top of the gun: Maverick. ‘We are delighted that Tom will accept this honor,’ Kyle Davies said in the upcoming President WRMPPF and the domestic distribution resides in Paramount Pictures. His contribution to the film industry as an actor and producer, including his great support in the exhibition world, made him a real pioneer in this field.
This year’s winners include Cecil B Daimiel, past pioneers Dick Cook, Michael D. Eisner, Jim Gianopulos, Alan Horn, Jeffrey Cassenberg, Catherine Kennedy, Donna Langley, Shirley Lansing, Frank G. Mancuso, Sumner Redstone, Terry Semel, Tom Sherak, Jack Valenti, Jack Warner, Darryl F. Zanuck, and this year’s winner, Cheryl Boone Isaacs.
