Telangana’s Chief Minister Sri KCR to fulfill his vow to Lord Venkateswara Swamy by presenting Rs 5 crore worth gold offering to the deity at Tirumala on February 22.
The Chief Minister to present 14.20 kg Saligram Haram golden necklace which cost almost about Rs 3.70 crore and 4.65 kg Kanta Abharanam costing Rs 1.20 crore. The Chief Minister had vowed to present gold ornaments to various deities if the separate state of Telangana is achieved.
Apart from Rs 5 crore for Lord Venkateshwara Swamy, Rs 59 lakh was sanctioned for other deities. During the visit, the chief minister will also going visit Padmavathi Ammavaru Temple and present a gold nose ring to the Goddess.
In 2016, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao presented Rs 3.5 crore worth golden crown weighing of about 11.7 kg to Goddess Bhadrakali in Warangal.In coming days, he is expecting to visit Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Warangal to present “Golden Moustaches” to the Lord.
The opposition had criticised the move when government orders were issued, raising questions on spending crores from state exchequer for fulfilling a personal pledge.
The Chief Minister will be travelling in a special flight and will be accompanied by family members and many Cabinet ministers. Huge security arrangements have been made for their visit.
KCR’s First Visit to Tirumala after Division
Supporters of the leader made all the preparations for a grand welcome to KCR. Hoardings and poster can be seen at many places in the temple town.
Earlier, the Chief Minister visited Andhra Pradesh during the inauguration of a new capital city in Amaravati.
