The CBI court is hearing the cases of killing of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati and past Dera manager Ranjit Singh.
Chandigarh: Legations of paramilitary troops and the Haryana Police department have been set up in Panchkula as security arrangements were stiffened ahead of hearing in two assassination cases contrary to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on this Saturday.
Ram Rahim Singh will seem before a CBI special court over video conferencing from the Rohtak jail, where he is stuck after being condemned to 20 years in prison in two rape cases.
The CBI court is hearing the two cases of murder of reporter Ram Chander Chhatrapati and previous Dera manager Ranjit Singh. Murder is punishable with life custody or death sentence.
“We have made sufficient security arrangements onward of the hearing in the cases,” B S Sandhu, Haryana Director General of Police said.
Legations of paramilitary troops and the Haryana Police force have been positioned in Panchkula to prevent any unfortunate incident, he stated.
“The hearing in the cases contrary to Ram Rahim, who is wedged in Sunaria jail in Rohtak, will be accompanied through video conferencing,” Sandhu stated.
Ram Rahim was condemned to 20 years in jail on August 28th in the two rape cases by the CBI Court.
Numerous parts of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Punjab had seen large-scale violence following his belief in the two rape cases on August 25th.
Whereas forty-one people were murdered in Haryana in the violence, no deaths were stated from Rajasthan and Punjab.
CBI counsel HPS Verma stated, “The final arguments in the two murders cases will begin tomorrow.”
Sirsa based reporter Chhatrapati was shot at in October 2002 after the evening paper ‘Poora Sach’, held by him, printed a mysterious letter narrating how females were purportedly being sexually exploited by the group head at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. He was killed later.
The second case narrates to the murder of past Dera manager Ranjit Singh who was supposedly shot dead in 2002. He was killed for his alleged role in the flow of the anonymous letter, which had made the sexual exploitation claims, according to the hearing.
The Haryana and Punjab High Court had, in November 2003, given a CBI probe into the assassination of Chhatrapati and Ranjit Singh after the families of both the sufferers come near the court.
The CBI had trailed the charge sheet in the murder cases on July 30, 2007.
