It is not for those who are setting the lap records at racetracks or smoking KTMs between red lights in drag races, but for those who would like to sit back, relax and can enjoy the experience.
What makes it so expensive, although? Well, for starters, Vespa has tried to fit the most high-tech features in the Piaggio Vespa that you could find. It has ASR traction control, ABS, LED projector headlamps, LCD instrument cluster LED indicators, 220 mm double disc brakes at the front and a special paint scheme that looks different in the different shades of light.

The model came into an existence last year to mark the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Giorgio Armani and the 130th birthday of the Piaggio Group. The 946 refers to the year 1946 when this original scooter was rolled out.
Along with the Vespa motor scooters 946, Vespa also launched the Vespa 70th anniversary edition, which is the special edition VXL model. It gets the ‘Azzurro 70’ body colour with a fly screen, glossy dust grey alloy wheels & leather pattern seats. It has been priced at a relatively modest Rs 96,500 (ex-showroom, Pune)
It is clearly a bold move by a Vespa to launch a scooter at that price range and it remains to be seen as to how successful their freshly launched scooters are in India.
