Nara Brahmani has the added benefit of being the daughter of actor and TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Hyderabad: To progress the party’s position and give self-assurance to its cadres, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is in view of making his daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani president of the party entity in Telangana state. Ms. Brahmani has the additional advantage of being the offspring of actor and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna.
TD Party leaders hope that she will be capable to strengthen the party in Telangana state onward of the 2019 elections, as there have been many departures of major leaders counting the recent departure of A Revanth Reddy. This has enfeebled the party so severely that it might find it difficult to field entrants for the resulting Assembly elections. In a gathering with party leaders from Telangana state held by Mr. Naidu after the departure of Mr. Revanth Reddy, some of those currently requested the CM to make Brahmani as chief of the party in Telangana state.
Brahmani was born and brought up in Hyderabad city and making her the Telangana Telugu Desam chief might help stem the drift of desertions in the party in Telangana State, the party feels. The TD is gone with no leader in Telangana state who has a frame following. The datum that Ms. Brahmani was born and brought up in Hyderabad will also preempt any blame of an outsider being imposed on the party and might go down well with voters.
A Telugu Desam leader stated that Ms. Brahmani had not protected local status in Andhra Pradesh. He said the declaration of her husband and Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh concerning their local status is shown this. According to TDP leaders, Ms. Brahmani has been taking a concern in politics and inquiries about the party’s situation in Telangana state whenever she meets Telugu Desam party leaders.
