Telangana: Minor held for insulting national flag

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police arrested a 14 years old boy from Nandigama district, for posting a photograph on his personal Facebook profile, slighting the national flag. The police department said the boy a local of Veerlapally village was studying Class VIII in a privately owned school.

A few days before, one of the villagers while surfing Facebook, observed the boy’s profile and had found an image, in which he has perceived tying shoelace by putting his foot on the National Flag.

Grounded on a complaint from the villager, police had listed a case under Section 153 (b) of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Insults to National Honor Act and after that, the investigators seized the boy. He was presented before the juvenile justice board and had sent to a juvenile home.

Police also jammed his facebook account and also recovered from him the mobile phone he used for uploading the contentious picture. The seized materials are sent to Forensic Science Laboratory.
