A decision is also made to organize Indywood Film Carnival in Hyderabad Telangana from 1 to 4 December of this year.
Hyderabad: The state government of Telangana will give its first cinematographic awards since the formation of the state during the Dasara festival and began a search for the new name for the award.
Minister of Livestock farming and Cinematography, T. Srinivas Yadav, who chaired a meeting on Telugu cinema and television-related issues with film personalities, said that the government intends to present Film prices on the Dasara day instead of April.
The united AP government used to give movie awards under the name of Nandi in April to coincide with the Ugadi Festival – the Telugu New Year.
The government appears has already shortlisted some of the names for the film award. Among them are Nemili (peacock), Palapitta (Indian scroll or blue jay,now a stage bird of Telangana), Simham (lion) and Kakatiya Thoranam (Warangal’s emblematic gate during Kakatiya rule).
