TDP MP Diwakar Reddy defended his conduct and stated there was no question of saying an apology to the airlines.
Hyderabad: Nearly all the domestic airlines have proclaimed a “fly ban” on Telugu Desam MP J.C. Diwakar Reddy for behaving terribly with Indigo Airlines staff at Visakhapatnam Airport on this Thursday. Then again on Friday night, Diwakar Reddy with a group of 12-member family members has flown out to Paris on an Emirates flight, through Dubai, on a private 10-day tour.
Speaking to media from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport just a few minutes afore boarding the flight, MP fortified his behavior and stated that there was no question of saying an excuse to the airline.
Beached, MP Diwakar says will raise this concern in Lok Sabha
“I will write to the Union civil aviation ministry on my arrival from Paris describing what occurred at Visakhapatnam Airport and in what way I am being made a victim in the entire issue, without having any action against Indigo staff who intentionally repudiated me a boarding pass.
“I know well how to defend myself in the complete episode. I will raise the concern in Lok Sabha. I plea a thorough analysis into the entire affair in which Indigo staff double-booked the flight and delivered boarding passes to a few and denied the same to several by gathering huge sums. I am collecting all the details and I will definitely fight to care for my rights both as a citizen and also as an MP,” said a rebellious Mr. Reddy.
He described that he has informed civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on the issue. He repudiated that he had told the minister that he had reached at the airport at 7.10 am, well in advance.
“I didn’t say I reached at 7.10 am. I reached at 7.35 am for 8.15 am flight to Hyderabad. Other travelers were also there at the airport,” Mr Reddy said.
He stated that he will go to any level — even proffering his resignation from the Lok Sabha to verify his point. “Self-respect is more significant for me than other concerns,” he stated.
It may be recalled that it is Mr. Reddy’s ferocious behavior towards the airport staff that is at concern and not whether he was dishonestly treated by the airline crew.
