Naam Shabana could make its mark in terms of great Box office collection than many other low budgeted movies in the year.
Naam Shabana might be low with Rs 18.76 crore in its opening weekend with 2100 screens but the film having Akshay Kumar in an extended cameo role and the movie “Pink” fame
Taapsee’s Pannu, the film made a mark with the outstanding weekend collections among the medium budgeted movies this year. It has over crossed movies like Ok Jaanu, Phillauri, Commando 2 and Rangoon foreseeing its tremendous success in the days to come.
The January release Ok Jaanu, could not make its mark and could make Rs. 13.80 crore, on its opening weekend. Although the movie had good songs and was expected to do well in Boxoffice but dissapointingly it failed. The movie had the hit pair of Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur who did Aashiqui 2 together with huge success. But that didn’t help the movie. Commando 2 could earn Rs 15.75 crore and Anushka’s Phillauri could make Rs 15.25 crore, despite great performances from the leading stars. Naam Shabana, astonishingly beated the big budget movie like Rangoon with Shahid Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles which was a failure at box office. It could only earn Rs 14.5 crore. Yet the films day-wise collection is to be observed but one thing is for sure that the movie is roaring its significance in terms of collections and beating low budgeted movies that came this year.
If this continues it can be a huge success at the box office thanks for Akshay Kumar for being a part of the film which indeed helped boosting the collections and also “Pink” star Taapsee Pannu who has done great justice to the role offered to her in the movie. Naam Shabana has all the “Baby” cast including Akshay Kumar, Anupam kher, Kay Kay Menon, Rana Dagubatti, Danny Denzongpa and few other new entrants like Manoj Bajpai. The movie is directed by Shivam Nair. And the movie revolves around Taapsee Pannu who is a spy in the film.
