Indian captain Virat Kohli has gained the toss and has fixed to do batting first.

Though hosts Sri Lanka welcome back their pneumonia-struck captain Dinesh Chandimal, India is viewing ahead to have a normal opener, KL Rahul, back in their XI.
Chandimal’s arrival will be a big boost for the Lankans, who had suffered a 304-run beating at the hands of the customers in the first Test match, at the Galle International Stadium, the previous week.
Indian captain Virat Kohli, moreover, is confronted with a big dilemma. Abhinav Mukund was taken in as a standby for the bruised Murali Vijay, with Rahul being line up to be his partner at the top of the batting order through the three-match Test sequence in Sri Lanka; Shikhar Dhawan was taken in as a third choice opener.
Yet, both Mukund and Dhawan have made strong cases for their assortment in the second Test, with a 190 in the first rounds and 81 in the second, individually.
It would be stimulating to see whether Sri Lanka Test captain Chandimal’s return can motivate his crowds to rise out of their plummet.
