AMARVATI: A ‘South Korea City’ is probably to come up in Andhra Pradesh new capital city Amaravati or somewhere else in the state as Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has invited entrepreneurs from the East Asian country to set up their projects here.
“We will spread full co-operation and encouragement from the state government if you make Andhra Pradesh your 2nd capital and set up businesses in a big way. We will grow a South Korean City, on the outlines of Busan in your nation.
“We will contract MoUs if you come up with complete proposals and designs,” Chandrababu Naidu told a delegation of South Korean entrepreneurs here.
Exhibiting South Korean automobile hulk Kia Motors, which is setting up its car manufacturing entity in Anantapuramu district, as the mascot, the CM tried to woo other entrepreneurs from the East Asian nation to the AP state.
“We share parallels in size and population and we are both blessed with a huge coastline. We are rich in normal resources and I am very attentive to collaborate with South Korea, the chief minister stated the visiting delegation.
“Moreover if all the 3,000 South Korean firms come here, you have huge opportunities for all,” he said.
Naidu has given land, water, uninterrupted electricity and other inducements for the Koreans in his offer to woo them to the state.
A publication from the CMO later stated the visiting delegation planned to bring in at least 30 firms in sectors like logistics, electric steel, automobile components, ship-building, heavy equipment manufacturing, liquors, medical and marine equipment, to Andhra Pradesh.
Industrial Minister N Amarnath Reddy, Commissioner Siddharth Jain, Industries Secretary Solomon Arokia Raj, AP Industrial Infrastructure BSE 0.04 % Corporation managing director Babu Ahamed and other administrators were present at the meeting.
