Sasikala was yesterday condemned to 4 years in jail by the apex court, in a Rs 66 crore DA case.
Chennai: AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala Natarajan on 15th February, Wednesday has visited late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s memorial, while on the way to Bengaluru to surrender, as she was being convicted in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case by the Supreme Court.
Sasikala had paid a floral tribute to Jayalalithaa and sought after her blessings before moving to Bengaluru. She is roving to the Karnataka capital by road and will go to a local court.
Sasikala will be captivated at Parappana Agrahara jail in the city, said news.
Sasikala was on Tuesday condemned to 4 years in jail by the apex court, in a Rs 66 crore DA case.
Her nephew Dinakaran is chosen as the deputy general secretary of the AIADMK party, as her last official act before moving to Bengaluru.
Sasikala’s solicitor had on Wednesday requested the apex court for more time for her to capitulation, but this was disallowed.
Before she moved from Golden Bay resort on Tuesday, Sasikala had addressed the MLAs who have been staying at the luxurious resort from last week and requested them to ensure that the AIADMK rests united. “I might go to jail, but my heart will be here always. I will endure performing my liabilities as the AIADMK General Secretary from wherever I am,” Sasikala told her representatives.
She also hurled an indirect attack against Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao asking why he has not requested Mr Palanisamy to form the government as however. “They can’t jail my opinions. Whether I am here or in other state, I will work for the party by 24 hours in a day. Our enemy Karunanidhi boarded this case and we should make sure that his party DMK does not come to supremacy again in Tamil Nadu,” she said.
“There is no necessity for anybody to be afraid. We must do well for the people and we must only think about how to assist the people. I request you to be happy and not cry,” Sasikala said.
