Eight coaches of Lucknow-bound Meerut-Lucknow Rajya Rani Express derailed near Rampur in Uttar Pradesh.
On Saturday morning, the Rajya Rani Express of the eight coaches train has derailed at Uttar Pradesh near Rampur.
The incident happened at 8:15 am between the Rampur and Mundapanda stations.
The Railway officials said that the eight coaches of Meerut-Lucknow has derailed and there was no causality reported about the accident.
KK Chaudhri, Rampur SP said that a three-foot long portion of the railway track where the incident happened was missing and the sabotage angle cannot be ruled out.
A spokesperson of the Northern Railways said that buses are arranged for the passengers, food and water are provided to the passengers.
In the incident 12 passengers are injured and taken to the hospital and the passengers are in shock but their condition is stable, superintendent of the district hospital in Rampur, said.
Asim Arun, who is the IG of anti-terrorist squad said that the team has reached the accident site and has started the investigation to know the cause of the incident.
The Railway Minister says that all the stranded passengers are taken to their destinations and released the list of the names of the injured passengers.
The injured passengers have been moved to the district hospitals in Rampur which is five kilometers far away from the accident site.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 for the injured people.
Police officials, NDRF teams, railway officials are on the spot and taken care of the rescue efforts.
Moradabad Divisional Railway manager (DRM) has reached the accident site to oversee the rescue and relief operations.
Railways minister Suresh Prabhu tweets: “Personally monitoring situation.Directed senior officers to rush to the spot.Ensure speedy relief and rescue operations,” adding that an enquiry has been ordered into the incident and strict action will be taken against defaulters if any.
The derailed incidents are happening frequently in the last month, eight coaches of the Jabalpur-Nizamuddin Mahakaushal Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh’s Mahoba district and 50 people have injured.
In January, Bhubaneswar Express derailed in Vizianagaram and 32 people killed, 50 injured.

Last year, in the month of November, 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna Express train derailed in Kanpur Dehat district of Uttar Pradesh and 142 people are killed and more than 200 people are injured.
The incidents are attributed to human error or poor infrastructure coupled with inadequate maintenance.
