Supertar Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan wins the Guinness world record for the largest audience in a 3D movie screening.
Superstar Mohanlal, the ace hero’s blockbuster film Pulimurugan which released last October has broken all the records at the box office and now has geared up for Guinness World Record for having a largest audience in a 3D movie screening. This record was held previously by Barry Sonnenfeld’s Men In Black 3.
The film that had made a cost of Rs 25 crore, released last year in 400 screens in all over world and in India as well as State. In the five days after its release the movie has crossed Rs 20 crore mark. The reason for astonishing success of the film Pulimurugan was the actor taking on a tiger in the movie, which has fascinated not only his fans but also the other film-goers.
The picture which got him a special jury award and the first ever National award for the Stunt Choreography has now been in Guinness World Record.
The previous film which holds the record was seen by 6819 fans at Berlin’s O2 World. Now has broken its record on April 12th, when reportedly almost close to 20,000 people were attended the screening at Adlux Convention Centre in Angamaly.
The film was directed by Vysakh and is featured with the titular role and Kamalini Mukherjee, Jagapati Babu, Vinu Mohan, Bala and Lal. Worldwide the film has grossed over 152 crore. It has been the first film to cross 100 and 150crore mark in Malayalam film industry and currently holds the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever and the third highest-grossing South Indian film of 2016.
Its telugu dubbed version ManyamPuli was released in 500 screens across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on 2 December 2016
