Middleman promising the complainant that he would arrange for exchange of 50 lakh rupees in old currency notes outside the banking system in Hyderabad.
In Hyderabad 2 persons 1 of them posing as a policeman, allegedly extorted Rs 50 lakh in demonetized currency notes from a man in Rajendra Nagar area in Hyderabad the police said on Wednesday as per the report, Man from whom the money was looted is a friend of a businessman.
Middleman promised the complainant that he would arrange for exchange of 50 lakh in old currency notes outside the banking system, and the police said that for the promised exchange the middleman asked the complainant to take 50 lakh in old coinage notes in the latter’s four wheeler from Secunderabad to Attapur area last night as per the report.
Here, on the way two persons on a motorbike followed the 4 wheeler and once it reached at an remote place they overtook the car and stopped it, and they demanded from him to show the ID proof and quizzed him on the huge amount of cash he was carrying and assistant Official of Police K Ganga Reddy said as per the report.
Here they further threatened him that 200 per cent consequence will be compulsory on him, and besides a case will be filed against him and asked him to give the cash bag to them and leave the place, when he battled the duo snatched away the bag and fled the ACP said based on the grievance.
As per the report here one of the bike borne persons told the victim that he is a police detective and checked the four-wheeler and took away the cash bag and Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shamshabad Zone) P V Padmaja told PTI as per the report said.
