Abdul Gani Dar was attacked by the militants at south Kashmir’s Pinglan area of Pulwama district.
Abdul Gani Dar, who is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) district President for Pulwama was shot dead while he was traveling towards the Srinagar. The Terrorists suspected him and opened fire on him between the Pahoo and Pinglan village.
He has succumbed to the injuries after he was shot by the alleged terrorist and admitted in the SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
Medical Superintendent SMHS hospital, Srinagar, Dr. Nazir Chaudhary said that Abdul Gani Dar was brought dead. In the last two weeks, this was the second attack on the PDP leaders.According to the reports, the terrorists shot him in the chest.
Before joining the People’s Democratic Party on November 1, 2014, Dar has associated with the Congress Party in various capacities.
The attacks come close on the heels of the Chief Minister of Jammu Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh who is the Union Home Minister.
After the meeting with the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti’s assured that within few months the situation in the valley gets improved.
The Chief Minister said that within a period of two-three months you will see a changed Jammu and Kashmir and the next months are very crucial for us.
He also added that first there is need to improve the situation than there is a need to have the talks and the issue is as old as 70 years. He also made a request to the media people in restoring the peace in the state.
Mufti stated that the ruling dispensation at the central government must follow the paths of the former minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and to reach out the disenchanted and the angered youth in order to create the peaceful atmosphere in the State.
