State to fund Rs 78 crore, the entire cost of the bridge in Kazipet.
Warangal: An extended pending claim of inhabitants of Warangal for a new rail overbridge amid Kazipet and Hanamkonda on the National Highway 163 has lastly got a go-ahead with the perseverance of local leaders.
Managerial sanction for an amount of Rs 78 crore has been specified through GO No. 539. The new RoB would be made parallel to the present old bridge at Railway km 365/31-33 of Kazipet-Ballarsha unit.
Situated on the highway joining Warangal and Hyderabad, the section had been a reason for trouble and pain to road users ever since years but no exertions were put in to repair or to enlarge it. The region sees normal traffic jams. If a vehicle breaks down in the mid, the diary jam would be numerous kilometers long. Traffic police, also, find handling the traffic on the bridge so tricky.
Being the ancient bridge in the city, it has got cracks and is in a decrepit condition. Though the demand has been there ever since a long time, the consecutive governments failed to address it.
Political leaders like Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar and Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari had taken up the subject with Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and were involved in getting the permission for the new bridge.
“However the railway department approved the construction of a parallel bridge, they abandoned the change as they could not found the new bridge with another bridge already being practical and in usage,” said Kadiam Srihari.
“Currently the complete burden of funding the bridge has dropped by the state government. Yet, heeding to our pleas, the CM has agreed to the proposals and sanctioned the project. I thank him on behalf of the persons of Warangal,” he said.
Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar express thanks to the Fatima Church and St. Gabriel School organizations for giving the essential land for the RoB.
He stated that the state government is devoted towards the growth of tricities. “Yet part of the tricities, Kazipet has stayed underdeveloped for a long time. We are compelling steps to develop this region also on par with Warangal and Hanamkonda,” he stated.
Warangal Mayor Nannapuneni Narender stated the bridge would aid in the development of the city separately from assisting ease the traffic. It was the necessity of the hour, he stated.
