Navy Personnel Donate Blood in Vizag

A Blood Donation Camp was organised by an Indian Navy at Bheemunipatnam to mark the 31st anniversary of INS Kalinga on Friday.

Blood camp was inaugurated by the Command Medical Officer (CMO) of Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Surgeon Rear Admiral U.K. Sharma .

CMO along with the Commanding Officer of INS Kalinga, Commodore Praveen Kulkarni & Commanding Officer of INS Karna Captain Varun Singh initiated the camp by donating their blood. The camp witnessed overwhelming response from amongst the navy & the defence civilian personnel and their families.

The blood donation camp was  carefully organised as the humanitarian effort in collaboration with A.S.  Raja Blood Bank &will go a long way in the ensuring saving of lives. Nearly 100 units of blood were donated voluntarily and were handed over to A.S. Raja  Blood Bank.

Speaking at the inaugural function, Surgeon Rear Admiral Sharma, stressed on the need to build awareness about voluntary blood donation & highlighted that each unit of blood can be separated into its components thereby multiplying the number of lives can be saved many lives. Surgeon Rear Admiral Sharma opined that much more such camps must be organised in the city.
