Narendra Modi celebrates Diwali with soldiers

Narendra Modi said he also wishes to spend Diwali with family and thus, he had come amid jawans, who he ponders his family.


Kashmir: Narendra Modi, Indian Prime Minister on this Thursday had spent his 4th Diwali with jawans – this time at the Gurez Sector valley together with the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Calling jawans as his family, Narendra Modi stated that he also wishes to spend Diwali with his family and thus, he had come amid jawans, who he ponders his family.

The Indian Prime Minister said he gets new dynamism when he spends time amid jawans and militias.

Narendra Modi stated, “Spending time with our Forces provides me new energy. We bartered sweets & intermingled. Happy to know that the Jawans are practicing Yoga often.”


Gurez sector is the gateway to Gilgit-Baltistan region.

Modi offered sweets and said Diwali greetings with the jawans.


Talking to the Army men, Modi said that the Union government is dedicated to the welfare and progress of Armed Forces, in every single way possible. He also mentioned the execution of One Rank One Pension (OROP).

Narendra Modi also esteemed penance and martyr of jawans, among harsh conditions.

PM said jawans who leave Armed Forces after finishing their duty tenancy, can become brilliant yoga trainers afterward.

The Prime Minister was escorted by Army Chief General Bipin Rawat who was camping in the Gurez sector from Wednesday.

Northern Knowledge chief Lt General Devraj Anbu and Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen J S Sandhu are even in Gurez accompanying the Prime Minister, an Army official stated.

Narendra Modi has been rejoicing Diwali with security forces each year after he had taken over as the Prime Minister of the nation.

In the year 2014, the Prime Minister celebrated Diwali festival with security forces at Siachen.


In the year 2015, Modi celebrated Diwali with jawans in Amritsar at Dogra war memorial.


In the year 2016, the Prime Minister had celebrated Diwali with ITBP jawans in Himachal Pradesh.


Narendra Modi has greeted the country on the auspicious occasion of Diwali.
