Five international flights to Mumbai from Kuala Lumpur, Zurich, Toronto, Amsterdam, and London were distracted to Hyderabad RGIA.
Hyderabad: 11 domestic flights and 5 international flights were diverted to Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) from Mumbai airport at early hours of Wednesday after a SpiceJet flight got trapped in the mud near the airstrip at Mumbai International Airport.
These departures changed the schedule of normal domestic flights from the RGIA. All the domestic flights got delayed by minimum 10 minutes to one hour, excepting one domestic flight (9W376) of SpiceJet from Hyderabad to Mumbai, which was deferred by four hours.
Representatives said with the abrupt information conceded by Civil Aviation that certain flights from Mumbai airport would be distracted at 12.05 am on Wednesday, the GMR, counting few airlines, engaged the staff for the continuation of shifts till all deferred flights start out from the RGIA. Around 2,000 staff, including CISF and Customs, sustained with their responsibilities till 9 pm.
