Microsoft Tugged into US Court for its recent Windows 10 Issue

Microsoft Windows 10 reputation is at stake with complaints on its unwanted operating system update, which is speculated as data destroyer.

Microsoft Windows 10 is hauled into a class-action lawsuit when three people in Illinois filed a case against Microsoft.  They accused that Windows 10 updates have destroyed their data and damaged their systems.

The complaint was filed in Chicago‘s US District Court on 23rd March 2017 which has charged Microsoft Windows 10 as an unreliable and defective product.  They claimed that Microsoft should have warned its Users that Windows 10 installation would carry such risks to system stability and data loss.

Microsoft “failed to exercise reasonable care in designing, formulating, and manufacturing the Windows 10 upgrade and placing it into the stream of commerce,” the complaint claims. “As a result of its failure to exercise reasonable care, [the company] distributed an operating system that was liable to cause loss of data or damage to hardware.”

The advocates representing the petitioners are trying to certify the case as a class action which includes every Windows 10 user in the US who installed Windows 10 from Windows 7 and has witnessed alleged problems like data loss and damage to system software or hardware within 30 days of installation. They reported some hundreds or thousands of affected Users.

Recently Microsoft has made crucial changes with its Windows update with respect to its User inputs. “Prior to the Creators Update, Windows 10 made most of the decisions for you regarding when updates would be installed, and didn’t provide ways to tailor the timing to your specific needs,” wrote John Cable, director of program management in the Windows servicing and delivery team in a blog post earlier this month.

The complaint says that Windows 10 installed itself directly in the Users computer without any consent and erased the data in the system and even some computers stopped functioning.

In the month of June, a woman from California won $10,000 after she complained about Windows 10 update disabled her Computer.
