KCR says Hyderabad needs 2 reservoirs to meet drinking water requirements.
Hyderabad: CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao had directed the government officials to make out a ‘10-year action plan’ for the complete development of Hyderabad. He stated that the action plan should meet all the needs and expectations of Hyderabad for the coming 30 years.
At an assessment meeting on the growth of Hyderabad on Friday, the CM stated two reservoirs are needed to come across the drinking water needs of Hyderabad. One reservoir will stock water from the Godavari taken from the Kaleswaram venture and the other water from Krishna, reserved from the Palamur lift irrigation venture.
“Stream water through significance and fill about 10-15 tmc ft water in every reservoir. Scrutinize the technicalities and start work instantly,” Mr. Rao stated.
He even spoke about plantation on forest lands about Hyderabad. “There is 8,000 acres of forestland in Narapalli and Nagole and extra 16,000 acres outside the ORR. Sisampet and Narsapur have about 40,000 acres. Hyderabad should have plants like New Delhi. Employ an IFS officer in the workplace of MAUD to oversee and manage greenery in the city,” the CM stated.
KCR wants more contribution from the individuals in the growth of the city and said basthi groups must be formed for the persistence. Each division should have 10 groups and the groups must be finalized in 15 days. The groups should play a major role in confirming greenery and hygiene.
“There are numerous tanks other than Himayat Sagar, Shamirpet, and Gandipet. Take actions to ensure that industrialized water and pollutants do not drift into the tanks,” he stated.
He trained officials to obey the rules when letting new constructions. “We will take severe action if officials compel any mistake,” he assured.
He wishes the Musi riverfront to be urbanized laterally the lines of the Sabarmati riverfront, with parks on either side of the Musi and bridges at numerous places diagonally the river.
“Progress the power supply arrangement in Hyderabad. Eliminate overhead lines. Lay roads as per SRDP program. Give importance to places like Uppal where there is dense traffic congestion. Take some technical protections while making below passes so that the water does not stagnate,” the CM stated.
