KL Rahul got his shoulder injured in the opening Test against Australia.
India opener KL Rahul has opened up on his chances of playing in the ICC Champions Trophy in June are very thin. As known that Rahul had been ruled out of ongoing IPL for the RCB due to the shoulder injury that he suffered during the first Test against Australia in February this year.
He explained that he had torn his labrum (a ring of fibrocartilage which is attached to the shoulder socket). As he couldn’t get into a few positions because his shoulder kept dislocating. That is the why he couldn’t play a lot of shots and had to restrict himself. He played with a lot of medication and taping in Tests Matches.
He also said that the doctor advised to take rest for 2-3 months. It is totally up to him he said and how he well takes care of himself in the rehab phase. Till now, it is 2-3 weeks of relaxation and after that, he will start physiotherapy. His rehab will start from there he said.
Rahul, who is into his third year in international cricket, had already missed out few matches due to his injuries. He says it is frustrating for a young man like to get injured so many times and missing out some games in the initial stages of his career.
He also said that he doesn’t find any reasons for why he have been getting injured where he is disciplined with his fitness and his diet and look after his body. So now it is the time to see what he could change in his upcoming training. He wanted to be injury-free. Once he gets back he looks to be fit and minimize injuries will be his goal.
