CM also announced the enhancement of pension for soldiers from 3000 to 6000 rupees
TS State Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has announced many measures for the welfare of soldiers and their families plus the constitution of a Special Fund and he also declared the enhancement of pension from 3000 to 6000 rupees to the soldiers and this pension is given to the soldiers who participated in the 2nd World War as per the report.
Chief Minister in a statement in the Assembly on Tuesday said the Telangana state should be a role model to all the states in the country when it came to looking after the welfare of soldiers and CM said that the state government will form a special fund for the welfare of soldiers and their relatives.
This fund CM and the ministers will give 25000 per year to soldiers and MLCs, MLAs, MPs have decided to give Rs 10000 per year for the Sainik welfare fund and state government employees will give one days salary to this fund as per the report.
Mr. Rao also said the central government is giving pension to ex-servicemen after their retirement and if they get employed with the state government they can get double pension but this facility is not extended to the wives of deceased ex-servicemen as per the report and he said that while the policy of giving only one pension to them and whether it is given by the centre or by the state is currently rampant and Telangana govt is providing the facility of giving 2 pensions to ex-servicemen who worked as employees of the Telangana state govt.
