KCR says that the offering burden to rise from Rs 4,777 crore to Rs 5,384 crore per every year.
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has announced on this Monday that from January 1st, 2018, free power will be given 24×7 to the agriculture segment all over the Telangana state.
He stated it will be a New Year gift to all the farmers, and Telangana state will make a history as the only state in the nation to deliver 24-hour free power for some 23 lakh pump-sets. Talking in the Legislative Assembly, KCR said that the state government will start removing auto-starters from agricultural pump-sets in this December.
“Never consider that we are taking up this effort to save power. We are more fretful about saving groundwater when compared to power. With the accessibility of power round-the-clock, farmers will have the tractability to use borewells at any time as per their ease. In Undivided AP, due to erratic power supply, no one distinguished when the power would come and go, due to which agriculturalists installed auto-starters to draw water as and when the power came. But currently, with 24×7 free power there is no such requisite.” He stated auto-starters will now be laid off. They deplete groundwater levels, which will show detrimental to farmers later. “I appeal farmers to eliminate auto-starters voluntarily,” he stated.
