Baahubali director SS Rajamouli met the film chamber head for release of Kannada version in Karnataka.
As the release date for Baahubali nearing the makers met with Sa Ra Govind, Karnataka Film Chamber President and also met one of the senior actor Ambareesh on Wednesday to ask them the release of the film in the state.
Sa Ra Govind refused to make a move on the ban and said they would call off the ban only when Sathyaraj come to Bengaluru and apologised to the people of Karnataka.
In addition to that the film chamber and pro-Kannada organisations under the umbrella of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike had called for a state-wide bandh on April 28, the day when the film Baahubali 2 is set for release.
He added that when Sathyaraj, the person from Tamil Nadu made anti-Kannada statements during the Cauvery crisis, by those statements he hurt the sentiments of Kannadigas. Also said that they will not budge and told Rajamouli to convince Sathyaraj to apologise and confirmed that they will not change.
Shetty said that with the Vedike’s cause all the distributors had sided and also have refused to agree the cinema release. He stated that the organization has managed to gather the support of most of the theatre owners all across the state.
This is not only the problem that the film is facing. It is also facing problem in Tamil Nadu as well, as they approached the Madras High Court to seek a stay on the release of the film.
Baahubali – The conclusion which is sequel to Baahubali – the Beginning has set to release on April 28. The film will be releasing in Telugu and Tamil on the same day itself. With such strong opposition, it remains to be seen how the events will unfurl.
