Hansal had made up his mind to cast Kangana Ranaut while narrating the story.
Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut, who is presently shooting for the retro film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ had taken a break from her roster to launch her future ‘light-hearted’ ‘Simran’ movie by Hansal Mehta.
At the movie trailer launch, Hansal was describing the story of how he was taken by her acting gobs and had made up his cognizance to feature Kangana, even before he had intellectualized ‘Simran’.
Hansal’s hunt for getting Kangana on board had begun long back, right after her first movie ‘Gangster.’
After facing numerous rejections from quite a lot of actresses, Hansal had moved out to the then beginner Kangana, who to his utter shock waned the offer, which had hurt the director’s ego.
Toting to it, Kangana stated, “Ego toh mai zarur hurt karti hu, (I normally hurt egos of people) though I don’t recollect the stories (laughs).”
The rebel moved on to say how these things have always been problematic for her, and she had to combat every time even for the least of things, but that’s an inborn part of her life and she has got ‘peace’ with it.
“I never mind people calling me a rebel, I even don’t take any offence. If I worth to get something, I take it either by rebellious or by normal means,” says the National Award-winning actress.
