Kangana: A Girl Character is not about the Length of Her Trousers or Skirt

Kangana Ranaut feels that women are taking over different roles in the film industry is a tremendous mark of women empowerment.


Mumbai: Bollywood leading actress Kangana Ranaut says in the present day women are seen pleasing over diverse roles in the film industry and she feels this is a symbol of women empowerment in the nation.

The 29 years gorgeous actress remembered that when she had started her filmy career 10 years ago, there were barely any female editor or associate director around but that is not the case any longer.

“The minute I started ten years ago my filmy career, it used to be erratic to find out a lady assistant director or a female editor…but then if you go to a movie set, it is totally taken over by females now. So these are the ladies who are motivating these stories of women empowerment specially,” she said at the promotion of flagship FitHub store of Reebok India here on Thursday.

Kangana feels even ladies’ importance as customers of entertainment has augmented extremely over these past years. When inquired if people’s attitude has changed concerning girls wearing short dresses, she told, “At least we have put transversely to persons with this thinking that if you just want to treat a girl child inversely than a boy child or you consider the girl’s character is merely about the size of her trousers or skirt, then I think an individual deep down should know that how we are refereeing this individual.”

Kangana Ranaut will be seen next in filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj’s retro drama ‘Rangoon’. It also stars Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. The movie will hit theatres in February next year i.e. 2017.
