Jharkhand is planning to employ 2 lakh people from investment proposals received in GIS summit
Jharkhand wrapped up its two-day global investors’ summit with chief minister Raghubar Das to ensure that the over 200 pacts worth Rs 3 lakh crore that had been signed got off the ground.
New investment proposals in Jharkhand worth Rs 3 lakh crore will create jobs for nearly 2 lakh people. This results in direct employment generation for 23,089 in the state. Jharkhand perceived projects worth Rs 19,118 crore , under Chief Minister Raghubar Das who came into power in 2014-15 ,which was getting completed and started production.
By these investment proposals, the projects are expected to be completed in the state in around two-three years which are of worth Rs 89,496 crore and helping nearly 1.56 lakh to get jobs.
Around 121 proposals, with investment commitments of Rs 2,10,505 crore are signed only by the mines, geology industry departments followed by urban development and housing (17), IT and e-governance (30), higher and technical education (16), culture and sports (8)health (6), tourism, arts, while agriculture and transport notched up one pact each. The power and energy department has received Rs 37,150 crore worth of proposals. In IT, Microsoft signed a deal for cloud computing among others.
The motto of Global Investment Summit (GIS) summit is to pave way for eradication of poverty in the next coming years.The IT and E-gov department has proposals with an investment commitment of Rs 8,500 crore. The main aim of the Government of Jharkhand is take various steps to endorse creation of jobs in the industrial sector as well as other sectors Food, Feed, Textiles, Automobile, Solar, Tourism, Industrial Park, Exports, IT/ITeS, ESDM, BPO, Start up, Film with the objective of providing more employment opportunities for the youth of the state as well as creating an enabling platform for the people of Jharkhand to meet their aspiration and be at par with the leading states and the standard of living of the country.
