Jagan Urged Naidu to pay unemployment allowance immediately to youth, as he promised during 2014 elections
Jagan the president of YSR Congress Party on Monday urged the state government of Andhra Pradesh to immediately honour its election promise made in 2014 about the pay of Rs 2,000 per month as an allowance to all unemployed youth in the state.
In his first open letter to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Leader of the Opposition party in Andhra Pradesh alleged that the government did not honour the promise of paying unemployment allowance even after 33 months in power.
Jagan said, You went to the elections in 2014 promising at least one job to each and every household in Andhra Pradesh and also promised to pay Rs 2000 as unemployment allowance in the event of non-provision of a job. But even after 33 months, the promise which you have made remains unfulfilled.
He suspected that you have been claiming that number of investments are coming into the state which produces lakhs of job opportunities to the youth, but no one is able to see except you.
The government owed Rs 66,000 to each unemployed youth in the state in the last 33 months and the aggregate dues amount to Rs 1.15 lakh crore, Jagan said.
At present scenario, the employment options either in the industrial and information technology sectors or public sector have indeed been hopeless. So, there is a need to immediately pay unemployment allowance to the unemployed youths, Jagan added.
The state budget for 2017-18 is about to be presented, and he urged that to make acceptable budgetary requirements to pay the unemployment allowance dues and also future monthly payments.
He said, to make an announcement immediately unemployment allowance to the youth every month.
Jagan told I am writing this letter only to remind you about the promise that you made during 2014 elections and forgot. There are many other promises that you failed to honour. I will write another letter to remind you of those promises as well.
