Chandrababu Naidu congratulates the TTD for extending BIRRD hospital quality treatment to the poor.
Tirupati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu congratulated the Balaji Institute for Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities (BIRRD), which is considered Asia’s most renowned orthopedic hospital, Quality treatment for the poor and the needy. The Chief Minister inaugurated the new block of the BIRRD hospital built by the TTD at a cost of 43.8 crore on Friday.
Speaking on this occasion he said that the hospital was opened in 1985 by the then PA Chief Minister late N.T. Rama Rao to offer the best free orthopedic treatment. “Over the past three decades, this unique orthopedic center has not only expanded its services to patients in Andhra Pradesh but also throughout India. Today it has emerged as the best orthotic ailments in Asia treating I congratulate the director, Dr. Jagdeesh, and his team of doctors and medical fraternity for this credit, and I hope that the new building will provide improved medical treatment for the needy, “he added.
Later, CM visited operating theaters, laboratory, radiology department, modern artificial limb fitting center, physiotherapy department, X-ray and central pharmacies. He interacted with patients undergoing treatment in the hospital. K.
