“Google Shops” are not trade stores, but rather minor location of bigger retail locations which show off Google’s numerous products including the VR headsets, Pixel, Chrome books, and even Chrome cast. Google is working with Finest Buy in Canada to open up these shops at select locations.
As TechCrunch outline from visiting one of the 1st locations, Google has assembled products together to show customers how they can be used together. For example, a Chromecast with a Pixel or a Pixel with a Daydream View headset and Google Product Search. Janell Fischer, Google’s Director of Retail Marketing explains:

Also included in the space are things like the “Portal,” a big display which can appear things such as Google Earth to give customers a different experience.

Fischer said: “We don’t have any tactics to do anything in the US right now.” However, seeing everything Google shop has made here and the emphasis the company has been putting on its products over the past few weeks, I can’t imagine we won’t eventually see something like this make its way to the States in one form or another.
