‘Let’s Make Hyderabad Crime Free’ theamed at Charminar, Hyd. It was organised by the Hyderabad Police at Charminar Police on Friday.
Hyderabad: A sea of heads was every one could see here at Charminar on Friday morning where thousands of people gathered to participate in a 5K Run organized by the City Police. The event was themed as ‘Let’s Make Hyderabad Crime Free’.
The run was flagged off by Olympics Silver Medalist and badminton player P V Sindhu and Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Mahender Reddy, Yakutpura Majlis legislator Mumtaz Ahmed Khan and other police officials.
Students, sportsmen, senior citizens, women and girls from various parts of the city participated in this run which culminated at the Barkas playground. The police pinned the number at 10,000. All along the route various NGOs, local police station officials, commercial establishments and educational institutions set up stands to provide snacks and soft drinks to the participants.
On the occasion, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy said that he is happy the police department was organizing this event in Old City as it was to ensure this belt gets its share of growth as well.
Prizes are distributed to winners who won the event. The policemen also issued the appreciation certificates to all the participants.
