Tollywood ruling stars Prabhas, Ram Charan, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty have undergone a new skill: horse riding- cheers to their fighter roles in movies like Magadheera, Rudrama Devi, Baahubali and currently megastar Chiranjeevi is all fixed to join the trend as he is set to undertake training to breathe life into the character of admired freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.
Yet, Ram Charan didn’t have to learn much for his character in “Magadheera’ as he had learned horse-riding in his childhood and it came inconveniently when he initiated to work for the historical epic drama Magadheera movie. “It is factual that Ram Charan was spellbound with horses from his childhood and was a champion in horse-riding.
He was pleasurably surprised when the director Rajamouli had put a circumstance that Charan should reassure him that he would undertake horse riding, before describing the script of Magadheera. Far along, Charan had lived up to the director’s dream and rest is the antiquity,” says a representative, close to Chiru’s family.
Yet, his Tollywood equals Prabhas, Rana Daggubati and Anushka Shetty had to sweat it out and pick up horse-riding the hard way. “Rana Daggubati and Prabhas had got trained under proficient horse-riders and from horse-riding police staffs since army guys included horse-riding police.
Through training, Rana had accidentally fallen off from the horse and was hospitalized with slight injuries,” says a representative. Yet, overlooking certain injuries and bumps, the action stars Rana and Prabhas impressed viewers with their valiant warrior characters in Bahubali sequences.
“Normally, horse-riding is not as easy as it looks and it needs lot of self-assurance, dedication and determination from the artists,” speaks director Gunasekar, who featured Anushka in the character of fighter queen in his previous release Rudrama Devi.
“Anuskha Shetty had undergone training as she wanted to breathe-life into the role of Rani Rudrama Devi. Originally, she had found it so hard to mount the horse and regulate it, but later she felt very happy as she could mug up a new skillset and certainly she looked spectacular on horseback,” he says.
After Balakrishna who was impressed in Gautamiputra Satakarni”, at present Chiranjeevi will experience training for a few weeks, to learn that. “Both Horse riding and sword-wielding are a part of the training program for his character in Uyyalavada,” concludes a representative.
