The Great Lakes International University will commence its first academic session in August with two courses — a BBA and a B.Tech in computer science.
Vijayawada: Great Lakes Institute of Management has launched the Great Lakes International University (GLIU) in Andhra Pradesh, making it one of the first few private universities being set up in AndhraPradesh.
The university will inaugurate its first academic session in August with two courses — a BBA and a B.Tech in computer science. The bachelor of business administration(BBA) degree will offer specialisations in supply chain management , fintech , business analytics, e-commerce, and digital marketing, while the bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree will offer the specialization in machine learning and artificial intelligence, big data analytics, Internet of Things, and cloud computing and cyber security.
The founder of the Great Lakes International University, Mohan Lakhamraju told the reporters that the university objective is to develop future leaders who are armed with intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and confidence derived from strong values and a global perception.”

The other originators of GLIU include Bala Balachandran, professor emeritus at Kellogg School of Management and founder and dean of Great Lakes and Parag Diwan, founding vice chancellor at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. For each course, the number of student’s intake will be of 120.
“We’ve designed the educational experience at GLIU with a multidisciplinary approach in mind — taking inspiration from top global schools like The Wharton School and Singapore Management University, and focusing not just on core proficiencies like business and technology, but also building a broad-based intellectual foundation through studying the liberal arts,” said Lakhamraju.
Great Lakes International University already has academic relationships in place with Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Bordeaux University in Europe, and Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago and there are many connections under development
