Former AP Minister and TDP leader Devineni Nehru died of severe cardiac arrest in a Private Hospital in Hyderabad.
Devineni Nehru who was Telugu Desam Party leader passed away due to cardiac arrest on Monday. Devineni Nehru was Former Andhra Pradesh Minister. Suffering from severe heart issues Nehru died in a private hospital in Hyderabad. His body shifted to his native place Vijayawada where the last rites will be performed on Tuesday. He was 65.
Devineni Nehru Original name was Devineni Rajasekhar. He was elected five times from the Kankipadu Constituency and one time from the Vijayawada East constituency. Devineni Nehru entered into the politics during NTR time in the year 1982. In 1983, Devineni Nehru elected to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly from the Kankipadu constituency and in 1994 worked as Minister in the NTR’s cabinet.
He played a significant role in the politics of Vijayawada. He is survived by a daughter and son.
Devineni Nehru joined in the Telugu Desam Party when it was headed by the N T RamaRao. Later after the issues in the party, he joined the Congress Party but lost in the elections in 1990. But again elected to the assembly in 2004 and faced defeats in 2009 and 2014. In last year in the month of August, he again joined back the TDP party with his son Avinash mending differences with the Chief Minister of AP Chandrababu Naidu. While Joining the TDP party again, Nehru spoke few words which came true now.
“I am born in Telugu Desam. My Political Life is NTR’s Biksha. I may have joined back TDP so that I will get wrapped with the TDP flag after I die. This is my wish,” Devineni said.
Nehru was one of the few leaders who remained loyal to the part founder, NTR when N Chandrababu Naidu led a revolt against N T Rama Rao.

Chandrababu Naidu condoled the death of Nehru and termed it as a personal loss to him and to the party.
