Producer of Saamy 2 will be funding the project.
Actor Dulquer Salmaan, who was last seen as a star in Mani Ratnam’s OK Kanmani, is yet to mark a Tamil film. Though he has been performing in several Malayalam movies, he is being picky when it comes to Kollywood projects. Newly, we had reported that he will be seen in an untitled Tamil movie, which will be helmed by debutant director Ra Karthik.
According to the most recent reports, we hear that he has signed one more movie, which will be produced by Shibu Thameens. The producer makes known, “Though it’s too early to talk over this, we met recently and we will be linking in 2018 for a Tamil project, because he loves the Tamil flick industry and wants to do a good film catering purely to the viewers of TN.”

Dulquer and Shibu first work together for Malayalam movie, ABCD. Speaking about their friendship, the Iru Mugan producer utters, “We always needed to work together after our first venture ABCD. He is one of the most honest heroes I have ever worked with. He is busy in Malayalam and has back-to-back ventures lined up in M’town. I at all times wanted to be associated with him.”
Producer Shibu Thameens is now busy with the pre-production of Saamy 2, directed by Hari. This movie is a sequel to the 2003 Tamil action drama showcasing Vikram and Trisha in the titular roles.
