Deepika Padukone feels a great creative learning experience while working in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s projects. She told that she could learn a lot and it was a challenging experience working with Sanjay in “Padmavati”.
Deepika Padukone seems to be extremely happy working again for the third time with the renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She told that working with Sanjay sir is not that easy it has always been a learning experience and quite challenging. The 31-year-old actress told that every time she needs to hone up her skills to make a perfect match with the new character portrayed by her particularly in Sanjay’s movie. This time Deepika and Sanjay are collaborating for the third time for a movie ‘Padmavati’ which is based on the historical story.
Deepika said that Sanjay extracts the best from her as an artist and it also becomes a great creative learning experience for her.
“Sanjay Leela Bhansali brings out the best in me as an actor. Working on ‘Padmavati’ with him brings out a creatively- enriching feeling in me… The way he pushes you challenges you… That’s what drives me to do his films,” says Deepika.
Deepika told that she is eager to see something new to the story line, if they could possibly bring, despite the familiarity.
“It is difficult as an actor to work with someone you have worked for so long. It’s challenging for both the director and actor to bring something new to the table every time they come together.”
“Even when he worked with Ranveer (Singh) in ‘Ram Leela‘ and ‘Bajirao Mastani‘, it was a similar feeling and these films are classic examples. We hope we are able to deliver something different for the audience this time again with ‘Padmavati‘,” says Deepika
The actress kept mum when she was asked about the controversy around the shooting of ‘Padmavati’.
Coming to Padmavati, it’s a period drama which features Deepika Padukone as the lead ‘Rani Padmini’, legendary queen, alongside Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh in other important roles. Ranveer will be seen as Alauddin Khilji, the Turkic ruler of the Delhi Sultanate.
