Crossover found a new road to the 2017 Shanghai auto show
The Chevrolet FNR-X Concept that made its debut in world premiere at the 2017 Shanghai auto show, an “all-purpose sports concept vehicle.” GM calls its latest creation. It is arranged behind the fancy descriptor and a plug-in hybrid crossover bearing styling with plenty of attitude.
Decidedly a concept is made, so far it is much closer to be a production ready vehicle with GM’s last Shanghai concept, the innovative Chevrolet-FNR (Find New Roads) concept vehicle, which is shown in 2015. Both the cars were created by GM’s joint venture with the Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center.
Alan Batey, GM executive vice president, in a statement said that the Chevrolet-FNR is one of the most advanced concept of Chevrolet cars and truly that demonstrates the brand’s passion for innovation and ingenuity.
The concept of sports dynamic digital LED headlights with gold Bow Tie that is centred between the hood line and wide bumper with active grille shutters are up front.
On the other side there are rear-hinged rear doors that are controlled by remotely and high-tech cameras instead of traditional mirrors.
Around back, on the driving mode which is used rear spoilers and side skirts move up and down.
Inside the car i,e FNR-X gets a sports steering wheel, high-tech fabrics and split-folding second-row seats for plenty of cargo space.
Chevrolet also says that the plug-in hybrid EV can switch between its engine and electric motor. There are two driving modes one is S (Sport) and the other is V (Versatility) which adjusts the FNR-X’s adaptive suspension.
In addition with these, it offers intelligent adaptive control systems and Chevy claims it also has switchable wheel blades that are adjusted automatically during high-speeds to reduce wind drag.
It is only in concept stage, we think Chevrolet is on the right track with the FNR-X and hope to see a version in the U.S. soon.
