Cheques given as wedding presents in Telangana
Guests are now writing out cheques to the newly weddings in Telangana.
In Telangana cash and articles have always been the norm as gifts for marriages and other functions. The demonetisation of 500 and 1000 rupees notes and the acute shortage of new money have put paid to that rehearsal. Visitors are now writing out cheques to the newlyweds. Other day the family of a bridegroom got a dozen cheques and eight demonetised 500 rupees notes as gifts and we cannot fault the visitors. And they try to give whatever they have said Mr Surender a relative of the newlywed.
As per the report Polisetty Chittaranjan a trader who was making acquisitions for his niece’s wedding slated for next week said some traders were tolerant cheques but most insisted on money.
